Get Ready for the Mercedes-Benz EQV
Mercedes-Benz has bolstered its electric range further with the introduction of the EQV van at the Geneva Motor Show this month.
This isn’t a glimpse into the future or another concept, Mercedes-Benz have promised they’ll have one ready for the Frankfurt Car Show in September! This is a van for moving people more than items, think transport for VIP and families. A 100kWh lithium-ion battery is enough to power this futuristic van for around 250 miles through a 150kW motor, pushing out just over 200bhp. It also has a top speed of around 100mph.

To help curb range anxiety, the satnav will automatically help guide you to a charger, thankfully you won’t have to sit their twiddling your thumbs for too long either. 60 miles of range can be added in as little as 15 minutes with a quick charger and as for paying, your Mercedes app can take care of that. The app can also be used for changing some vehicle options too, including pre-setting the aircon.
As an MPV it will come in seven or eight seat variations. A Shuttle Bus configuration is also available, offering 6 separate seats for added comfort. Visually, there’s no hiding its V-Class roots, although large LED headlamps, a full-width chrome grille and 19-inch alloys with blue detailing all help to differentiate the electric van. The latest version of Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment and connectivity system is also fitted, featuring a self-learning voice control system.
Mercedes-Benz Vans already offers the electric eVito and will launch the eSprinter later this year. The eVito is based on the architecture of the regular van and is intended as a ‘last-mile’ delivery vehicle suited to urban use. Mercedes-Benz has committed to launching nine zero-emissions cars by 2022, starting with the EQC. That total includes a number of electric city cars through the Smart brand and is tipped to include an EQA-based saloon to meet demand in the vital Chinese market.
